{"id":1809,"date":"2014-05-05T12:15:47","date_gmt":"2014-05-05T16:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.prisonpolicy.org\/blog\/?p=1809"},"modified":"2021-03-29T16:23:27","modified_gmt":"2021-03-29T20:23:27","slug":"pie-twitter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prisonpolicy.org\/blog\/2014\/05\/05\/pie-twitter\/","title":{"rendered":"Mass Incarceration: The Whole Pie Twitter Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \tIn preparation for this year&#8217;s Pi Day (3\/14), Prison Policy Initiative released the report &#8220;<a href=\"\/reports\/pie.html\">Mass Incarceration: The Whole Pie<\/a>,&#8221; which features a graphic that answers the question &#8220;How many people are locked up in the United States?&#8221; The response has been overwhelming; to date, more than 3,300 people have liked the graphic on Facebook and more than 1,100 people around the world have tweeted about it on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The graphic is the first of its kind to compile data from multiple sources in order to give an accurate count of the current incarcerated population of the United States.
